Position Summary

CLM Construction is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Foreman to lead daily shop operations, coordinate production, and keep projects moving safely and efficiently. 

The Fabrication Shop Foreman will assign daily work and manpower, monitor production, coordinate material and equipment needs, and maintain a steady workflow from material staging through fit-up, welding, inspection, and completed-product staging. The Foreman will ensure crews have the correct drawings, materials, equipment, and information needed to perform their work.

This position will coordinate inspections and quality requirements with QA/QC, ensure welders are working within their qualifications and approved WPS requirements, and make sure required inspections and hold points are followed.

The Foreman will maintain a safe, organized shop environment, enforce PPE and safety requirements, address unsafe conditions, and monitor productivity, workmanship, attendance, and housekeeping. The Foreman is also responsible for communicating production concerns, material shortages, equipment issues, quality issues, and upcoming priorities to management.

A minimum of 5 years of fabrication or welding experience is preferred, with previous Foreman, Leadman, or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Candidates should have a strong understanding of pipe and/or structural fabrication and the ability to read fabrication drawings, spool sheets, isometrics, weld maps, and bills of material.

Knowledge of welding processes, WPS/WPQ requirements, QA/QC procedures, rigging, and material handling is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential.

The Shop Foreman is responsible for establishing daily production priorities, assigning manpower, coordinating material movement, and requesting additional resources when needed. The Foreman has the authority to stop work when safety concerns, incorrect materials, unclear drawings, or unresolved requirements exist.
