Quality Team Lead

Located in York, PA

Salary: $19-$21/hr

Hours: Monday through Thursday. 6:30am-5pm. Potential OT Friday through Sunday.

Dress code: Jeans, tshirt, and steel toed shoes. Safety glasses and safety vest.

Job Description: 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the coordination and daily execution of sorting, inspection, and rework projects in the assigned area.
• Assist with project setup, work area preparation, and communication of work instructions to inspectors.
• Monitor containment activities to help ensure only approved components are released to the OEM customer for vehicle assembly.
• Communicate project status, concerns, and project needs to supervision in a timely manner.

Leadership Role:

• Lead assigned inspectors during daily operations to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and according to customer requirements.
• Conduct pre-shift communication with team members, including work assignments, priorities, quality alerts, and safety reminders.
• Train inspectors on work instructions, inspection criteria, part handling, documentation requirements, and project-specific expectations.
• Audit inspectors throughout the shift to verify proper execution of inspections, sorting, rework, labeling, and documentation.
• Identify process concerns, quality issues, or training gaps and escalate them to supervision for support and resolution.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, positive morale, and adherence to workplace
• Support accurate completion of inspection results by the inspector
• Maintain communication with adjoining shifts and supervision to support a smooth transition of work and project status.
• Assist with implementation and adherence to customer and company safety requirements for the assigned work area.

Qualification/Requirement:

• Experience in quality inspections, sorting, containment, or rework activities using predetermined criteria.
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production support environment.
• Ability to lead small teams, provide clear direction, and support day-to-day execution of assigned work.
• Ability to train inspectors and verify understanding of work instructions and quality
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, self-initiative, flexibility, and ability to work as part of a team.
• Good written and oral communication skills to communicate with team members, supervision, and customer representatives as needed.
• Capability to read and understand work instructions & inspection criteria

Experience/Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in quality inspection, sorting, containment, or a team lead role preferred.
• Knowledge of MS Office tools beneficial

Environmental Requirements:

• Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise.
• Some duties performed outside in all weather conditions.
• This is a physically demanding position.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, move product, equipment and supplies 20-50 pounds
• Regularly stands, walks, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+
