Warehouse Lead – Night Shift

Full time – Temp to hire

Sunday through Thursday - 5pm to 2am

$27hr to $28hr depending on experience

A market leading chemical services company in Arleta CA, servicing many industries including, metal manufacturing/surface finishing, electronics/semi-conductor, food & beverage/nutritional, personal care, industrial and municipal/industrial water treatment is looking for a Graveyard Warehouse Lead to join their team.

Summary: As a Working Lead, this is a hands-on role requiring you to work actively alongside the team to complete all assigned tasks. You are responsible for coordinating daily night shift operations, training and mentoring staff, monitoring performance, and handling warehouse incidents and escalations safely and efficiently. All duties must be performed in strict compliance with OSHA regulations and company standard operating procedures to maintain a safe, professional environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the team to complete all assigned tasks.
  • At the direction of the Warehouse Manager and Plant Manager, provide leadership and oversight for Warehouse Night Shift along with performing Warehouse Operation functions (listed below).
  • Responsible for entering next-day route schedules into Sage ERP system and subsequently assigning pick tickets to Warehouse Night Shift team.
  • Review and educate warehouse employees on shipping procedures.
  • Conduct pre-shift huddles, assign daily tasks and direct warehouse personnel to meet fulfillment and shipping targets.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point person for executing company standard operating procedures calmly and compliantly regarding incident reporting, workplace accidents and industrial injuries.
  • Ensure all required safety & regulatory training for warehouse night shift is completed by assigned date.
  • Review and approve Warehouse Night Shift timecards and time off requests, ensuring absolute compliance with California meal and rest break regulations.
  • Complete and maintain specialized training in Sage routing system, Team Leadership, timecard review/approval workflows, emergency response and corporate Industrial Injury procedures.
  • Pull and stage product for next-day delivery truck runs.
  • Verify order accuracy by product code, lot number, quantity & unit of issue.
  • Load and placard trucks.
  • Load and unload reconditioned trailers.
  • Execute in the resolution of inventory discrepancies, investigate & correct deviations.
  • Report warehouse facility safety issues and the organization of material issues immediately.
  • Daily housekeeping and cleaning of warehouse (i.e., removal of trash, throwing away plastic wrap)
  • Safely operates heavy equipment, including stand-up reach and sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, drum pickers, shrink wrapper, industrial pumps, chemical hoses, valves and bulk product scales.
  • Ensure efficient, accurate, and high-quality department operations.
  • Communicate openly with upper management.
  • Observes safety requirements set forth by company.
  • Adhere to all S.O.P.’s, Work Instructions, and Daily Checklists.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year prior progressive Warehouse leadership experience required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year current Forklift experience, both stand up (reach) and sit down required. Current Forklift Certification highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements for Hazardous Materials (preferred).
  • Barcode Scanner (RF) experience – pulling orders, restocking product, cycle counts, inventory control).
  • Ability to handle physical workload, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures, giving special attention to safety regulations.
  • Problem-solving skills are a requirement.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically.
