Cashier/Customer Service Associate

Cashier/Customer Service Associate Job Summary: A growing Grand Rapids liquidation company is looking to add a dependable and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to their team. This position will be responsible for assisting customers and accurately processing purchases in a fast-paced liquidation environment. Transactions can range from smaller purchases to several thousand dollars, so this person must be extremely accurate, trustworthy, and comfortable handling large amounts of cash. There is also an opportunity for additional hours assisting with online product listings and other eCommerce tasks.
Cashier/Customer Service Associate Responsibilities:
- Accurately processing customer purchases and payments
- Handling cash, credit card, and other customer transactions
- Counting and handling large amounts of cash with a high level of accuracy
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
- Verifying transaction totals and ensuring payments are processed correctly
- Assisting customers with questions and pickups as needed
- Maintaining an organized checkout and customer service area
- Assisting with posting products for sale through the company's Facebook group during slower periods
- Supporting additional customer service and eCommerce tasks as needed
Schedule & Pay:
- Thursday: 11:30am-7:00/7:30pm; Friday: 8:30am-5:00/5:30pm; Saturday: 7:30am-1:00/1:30pm
- Potential for additional hours Monday-Wednesday from approximately 8:30am-2:00/2:30pm
- $20.00/hr
Cashier/Customer Service Associate Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable handling large cash transactions
- Strong basic math and cash-handling skills
- Dependable and trustworthy
- Friendly and professional customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working independently when needed
- Comfortable using a computer or phone for basic online tasks
- Previous cashier, retail, customer service, banking, or cash-handling experience preferred
- Previous eCommerce or online selling experience is a plus
