Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members. This position supervises maintenance staff, coordinates preventive maintenance programs, responds to maintenance issues, and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team.
• Inspect hotel facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and repair requirements.
• Plan, assign, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for guest rooms, public areas, and building systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, appliances, and other building systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, housekeeping, and other departments.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and local building codes.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Monitor inventory levels and order maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment as needed.
• Assist with hotel renovation projects, upgrades, and capital improvement initiatives.
• Train, coach, and evaluate maintenance team members to ensure high levels of performance and productivity.
• Participate in emergency response procedures and be available for after-hours issues when necessary.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical certification, vocational training, or associate degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality, commercial facilities, or property management.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
