Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Painter to join our team. The Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on residential or commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with painting techniques, surface preparation, safety procedures, and attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and cleaning.
• Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths, tape, plastic coverings, and other materials.
• Mix and match paints, stains, and coatings to achieve desired colors and finishes.
• Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Repair damaged surfaces including drywall, plaster, and wood as needed.
• Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and painting equipment.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
• Complete projects within established timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous painting experience 
• Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial painting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of painting methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to prepare surfaces and perform minor repairs.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and project specifications.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
