A local senior living community is looking for a dependable Line Cook to join their kitchen team. This position is ideal for someone with food service experience who enjoys preparing quality meals and providing excellent service to residents.

Job Description:
The Line Cook prepares high-quality meals for residents in a retirement facility, following standardized recipes, dietary guidelines, and food safety procedures. This role helps ensure residents receive nutritious, appealing meals in a timely and courteous manner while supporting the kitchen team and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Responsibilities for the job include:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to approved recipes and portion standards.
  • Set up and stock assigned stations with necessary ingredients and supplies.
  • Follow resident diet orders, texture modifications, and special meal requests.
  • Ensure food is cooked, held, and served at proper temperatures.
  • Assist with prep work, portioning, plating, and meal service.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and inventory levels.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen throughout the shift.
  • Follow all sanitation, infection control, and food safety standards.
  • Communicate with kitchen and dining staff to ensure smooth meal service.
  • Clean equipment, utensils, and surfaces after use.
  • Support team members and assist with other kitchen duties as assigned.

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or in food service preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to accurately follow recipes and dietary instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Skills Required:

  • Food preparation and cooking skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Dependable and team-oriented work ethic.

Skills Preferred:

  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, or institutional food service.
  • Understanding of modified diets, including low-sodium, diabetic, soft, and puréed diets.
  • Experience preparing meals for individuals with specific dietary needs.
  • Positive, respectful, and patient-centered approach.

Work Schedule:

  • Saturday: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Monday: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Start Date: Saturday, September 5

Pay: $22.50/hour
