Quality Control Lab Technician

 

Monday–Friday | 1st Shift | $22/hr | Temp-to-Hire

 

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Lab Technician to join our client’s precast concrete manufacturing team. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a laboratory and manufacturing environment, performing testing, solving problems, and helping ensure products meet quality standards.

 

What You’ll Do

• Perform quality inspections before, during, and after production.
• Conduct testing and inspections of raw materials, products, and manufacturing processes.
• Accurately record and enter production and quality information into computer systems.
• Identify and report quality issues and work with Production and Quality teams to resolve them.
• Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
• Perform measurements, calculations, and basic testing procedures.
• Assist with identifying opportunities to improve materials, processes, and finished products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and testing area.
• Work closely with production and yard teams to complete inspections and testing in a timely manner.
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
• Continue developing technical knowledge and skills related to quality control and concrete manufacturing.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and/or production drawings.
• Comfortable performing basic math, measurements, and calculations.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn.

Preferred:

• Previous laboratory, quality control, or quality inspection experience.
• Concrete testing experience.
• Manufacturing, construction, or production experience.
• Experience working with testing equipment or measuring instruments.

What to Expect

This is an active position with time spent in both the lab/office and plant/yard environment.

You should be comfortable:

• Walking, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods.
• Handling materials weighing up to 50 lbs. in the plant/yard.
• Using hand tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
• Working around dust, dirt, noise, machinery, vehicles, and varying temperatures.
• Working outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Position Details

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM
Start times may vary based on production needs.

Pay Rate: Starting at $22/hour
