Material Handler / Forklift Operator (Reach Truck)
Shift: 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm Mon-Fri
Training hours 07:00-3:30pm (roughly 2 weeks)

The Material Handler supports inventory accuracy, material flow, and timely movement of goods throughout receiving, warehouse, production, packaging, and shipping areas. This role maintains bin locations in the company’s ERP system, replenishes designated Normal Bins, moves finished goods to assigned stock or overflow locations, and helps resolve inventory or process issues in partnership with Shipping, Manufacturing, and Purchasing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintain organized, accurate on-hand inventory by placing materials in assigned locations and completing required system transactions in a timely manner.
- Respond promptly to Normal Bin shortages to support shipping, production, and customer order fulfillment needs.
- Coordinate with Shipping, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to resolve system or procedural issues.
- Move inventory from receiving and REC bin locations to assigned stock, production, or manufacturing areas according to established inventory procedures.
- Restock Normal Bins according to the Bin Replenishment Report and established inventory priorities.
- Move designated finished goods from production or packaging areas to assigned stock bins, overflow locations, or shipping staging areas in a timely and accurate manner.
- Enter approved quantity adjustments as needed to maintain accurate inventory records and support timely resolution of inventory discrepancies.
- Perform regular inventory file maintenance to support accurate bin locations, reliable replenishment activity, and a consistent flow of materials to Normal Bins.
- Complete cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and maintain records of any inaccuracies for the continuous improvement process.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
- Requires working knowledge and the ability to use an ERP and MRP System.
- Requires general knowledge of standard inventory management practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees, supervisors, and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to safely and effectively operate industrial equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Ability to assess a situation, draw a valid conclusion, and make sound recommendations and decisions.
- Ability to use basic computer systems, ERP or MRP tools, email, and other standard workplace software required for inventory and communication tasks.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Required qualifications include the ability to safely operate required warehouse equipment, accurately complete inventory transactions in an ERP or MRP system, follow established safety and inventory procedures, and communicate effectively with team members across receiving, warehouse, production, shipping, and purchasing functions.
- Requires a minimum of one (1) year of previous experience working in a similar position dealing with inventory and material handling for a mid-sized manufacturing environment.
- Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience safely operating a forklift.
