Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 6:45 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Forklift Operator for a fast-paced steel fabrication and recycling shop in Baton Rouge. In this role, you will operate a sit-down forklift to transport heavy materials across the facility, pull inventory, and expedite customer orders for delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move steel products and raw materials throughout the warehouse and outdoor yard.

• Accurately pull, stage, and prepare inventory orders to meet customer specifications and delivery timelines.

• Assist walk-in customers and delivery drivers with material loading and unloading.

• Maintain strict adherence to facility safety protocols, including zero cell phone use while on the clock.

• Keep workspace clean, organized, and clear of hazards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2–5+ years of sit-down forklift operator experience in an industrial or shop environment.

• Work Environment: Comfortable working outdoors and in a non-climate-controlled warehouse setting. (Complimentary hydration—water, Gatorade, and popsicles—is provided!).

• PPE & Dress Code Requirements:

  • Steel-toe boots with metatarsal guards (met guards) required.

• Core Expectations: Outstanding attendance, safety mindset, and strict adherence to workplace safety rules (non-negotiable no-phone policy during operational hours).

• Pre-Employment Screening: Candidates must be willing to complete a background check and a 10-panel drug screening prior to placement.
