Senior Accounting Clerk

Located in Edmonton, AB

Salary: $25–$35/hour

An Edmonton client is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Clerk to join their team.

Senior Accounting Clerk Highlights:

• Manage a high-volume accounts receivable ledger of approximately 5,000 accounts across multiple branches
• Perform customer account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding balances
• Contact customers regarding collections, negotiate payment timelines, and resolve disputed balances
• Process approximately 5,000 invoices per month through an ERP system and investigate invoicing errors
• Enter invoices into customer portals and process credit memos
• Review branch sales data for accuracy and follow up on errors, omissions, and reporting deadlines
• Prepare monthly AR and allowance for doubtful accounts reports
• Support month-end close and prepare journal entries as required
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and accounting projects

Requirements:

• Strong accounting fundamentals with accounts receivable and collections experience
• Experience working in a high-volume environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight month-end deadlines
• Comfortable working with ERP systems; experience with Acumatica or similar systems is an asset
• Construction, distribution, or multi-branch experience is an asset
• Post-secondary accounting coursework is an asset
• Construction lien experience is an asset
• No degree or accounting designation required

Hours & Wage:

• Contract position with strong potential for permanent employment 
• $25–$35/hour, based on experience
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• 100% on-site initially, with potential for hybrid work as the contract progresses
