Buyer / Planner

Located in Salt Lake City, UT

• Purchasing & Supplier Management: Request quotations, analyze supplier proposals, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms. Create, issue, and maintain accurate purchase orders, monitor open orders, and expedite materials to support production. Evaluate supplier performance and partner with Finance and Operations to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Planning & Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and material availability using demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory targets. Maintain planning parameters including lead times, safety stock levels, and reorder points. Identify and proactively address material shortages, excess inventory, and supply risks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner daily with Production, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Sales, and Finance teams to support operational objectives. Communicate material risks and supply chain disruptions in a timely manner, driving issues to resolution while maintaining department KPIs.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related professional field.
• Experience: Proven background in manufacturing procurement, inventory optimization, and supplier relationship management.
• Technical Skills: Experience utilizing Sage or other ERP/MRP systems is highly preferred. Ability to interpret Bills of Material (BOMs), engineering drawings, and product specifications.
• Core Competencies: Strong proficiency in demand forecasting, data analysis, cost/quality management, and supply risk mitigation with a continuous improvement mindset.
