SLITTER / PRODUCTION HELPER

Pay: $19.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Position: Long-Term Opportunity

 

We are currently hiring a Production Helper to support operators in a manufacturing shop environment. This position will assist with the operation of slitting machines and help ensure production runs safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist operators with setup and operation of slitting machines.
• Transport and prepare materials for production.
• Check coils according to work orders, including width, thickness, and coil identification.
• Assist with machine setup and adjustments.
• Perform basic calculations and measurements according to work orders.
• Inspect steel strip for surface and edge quality and report any issues.
• Assist with feeding material through the production line.
• Apply strapping and assist with unloading finished coils.
• Change scrap materials and keep necessary production supplies stocked.
• Maintain a clean and organized production area.
• Follow all safety procedures and inspect equipment as required.
• Report equipment issues, defects, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks when instructed and properly trained.

Qualifications:

• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Steel industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to perform basic calculations and work with measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and production instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
