Assistant Production Manager

Located in Edmonton, AB

Salary: $80,000–$90,000/year

An Edmonton client is seeking an experienced Assistant Production Manager to join their team.

Assistant Production Manager Highlights:

• Lead, mentor, and support the production supervisory team
• Coordinate staffing, schedules, training, and floor coverage
• Oversee daily production, packaging, and cake center operations
• Communicate with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, Shipping, and Quality teams
• Monitor labour efficiency, yields, scrap, ingredient usage, and production targets
• Investigate equipment downtime and recurring technical or quality issues
• Support QC activities, toolbox meetings, SOP development, and hazard assessments
• Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, BRC, and HACCP standards
• Act as the alternate for the Production Manager when required

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in a medium-to-large food manufacturing facility
• Strong experience with industrial mixers and commercial ovens
• Food manufacturing experience required; bakery experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of baking processes, food safety, BRC, and HACCP standards
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Ability to work primarily on a production floor with significant standing and walking
• Professional English communication skills

Hours & Wage:

• Full-time
• $80,000–$90,000/year
• Monday–Thursday, 9–10 hours/day
• Occasional Friday, weekend, and overtime work as required
