Express Employment Professionals is recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing company seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This position is responsible for designing new products, improving existing equipment, and supporting manufacturing and engineering initiatives.

Position Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineer will design and develop industrial equipment while working closely with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure products meet performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with electromechanical systems and a passion for problem-solving and innovation.

Essential Responsibilities

• Design and improve industrial equipment and machinery.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with customers and internal departments to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Participate in research, development, and prototype projects.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, service, installation, and sales teams.
• Develop maintenance recommendations, service schedules, and spare parts documentation.
• Investigate equipment issues and implement corrective improvements.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
• Assist with engineering projects and product development initiatives.
• Support and mentor engineering and drafting staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution required.
• Knowledge of industrial electromechanical equipment design.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Schedule & Travel

• Monday-Thursday: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM
• Occasional travel required, typically less than 20% annually.
