Striping & Seal Coating Technician
Located in Eureka, CA
Salary: $21.00 – $28.00 DOE
We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Striping & Seal Coating Technician to join a company specializing in parking lot striping, painting, and seal coating. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position that requires flexibility because much of the work is performed when businesses are closed, including nights and weekends.
Job Duties
- Perform parking lot striping, pavement marking, and seal coating work
- Assist with preparation and application of seal coating materials
- Operate painting and striping equipment
- Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment
- Operate a company truck and safely transport equipment and materials
- Pull and maneuver a mid-sized trailer as needed
- Measure and lay out parking lot markings according to project specifications
- Perform general labor, including bending, lifting, standing, walking, and working outdoors
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow company safety procedures and instructions
- Work at different job sites and locations depending on project needs
Qualifications
- Previous striping, seal coating, painting, construction, or related experience is preferred but not required
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Ability to operate a company truck safely and responsibly
- Ability to pull and maneuver a mid-sized trailer
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including varying days, hours, nights, and weekends
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods
- Ability to regularly lift and carry equipment and materials
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew
- Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred Experience & Skills
Candidates with the following experience may qualify for a higher wage within the posted range:
- Parking lot striping or pavement marking experience
- Seal coating or slurry experience
- Painting experience
- Construction or related field experience
- Experience operating striping or seal coating equipment
- Strong measuring and basic math skills
- Trailer towing experience
Additional Information
Work schedules and locations vary depending on the project. Some assignments may require early mornings, evenings, nights, or weekends. Employees must be flexible and available to work the schedule associated with each project.
The company may also perform California prevailing wage projects. When applicable, employees will be paid the legally required prevailing wage rate for qualifying work, which may be higher than the standard wage range listed above.
Pay: $21.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Prevailing wage rates may apply to qualifying projects.
