Executive Director

Located in Morgantown, WV

Salary: up to $65,000

A well-established community nonprofit is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead its operations, staff, financial activities, fundraising efforts, and community partnerships.

This is an opportunity for an experienced nonprofit leader—or a strong community-focused professional with transferable leadership experience—to take ownership of an organization that plays an important role in serving individuals and families throughout the region.

What You'll Do

• Provide overall leadership and direction for the organization
• Work closely with a Board of Directors on organizational goals and long-term planning
• Oversee day-to-day operations, programs, services, facilities, and events
• Lead, develop, and support staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
• Manage organizational budgets, expenditures, and financial planning
• Develop relationships with donors, businesses, volunteers, community organizations, government agencies, and other partners
• Lead fundraising and resource development efforts
• Identify grant and funding opportunities and assist with grant applications and reporting
• Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and speaking engagements
• Oversee marketing, communications, and community outreach initiatives
• Evaluate programs and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
• Ensure organizational policies, financial requirements, and operational standards are followed

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of leadership, nonprofit, community outreach, or related management experience
• Experience supervising and developing employees
• Strong organizational and strategic planning skills
• Experience managing budgets or organizational finances
• Fundraising, donor relations, grant, or business development experience
• Strong communication and public speaking skills
• Ability to build relationships throughout the community
• Comfortable working with a Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and outside partners
• Ability to balance hands-on day-to-day management with long-term planning

Nonprofit experience is preferred, but candidates with strong leadership, community involvement, fundraising, business development, or organizational management backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
