Job Full Description

Our client is seeking a Shipping Specialist to manage domestic and international shipping operations. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, preparing customs documentation, maintaining HS classifications, and ensuring compliance with import/export and cross-border trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
• Prepare and verify shipping, customs, and export documentation.
• Maintain accurate HS code classifications for products.
• Monitor tariff, duty, and trade regulation changes.
• Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely customs clearance.
• Resolve shipping delays, customs issues, and freight claims.
• Track shipments and provide status updates to internal teams.
• Identify opportunities to reduce freight, duty, and landed costs.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian, U.S., and international shipping regulations.

Job Experience

• Minimum 3 years of shipping, logistics, or import/export experience.
• Strong understanding of HS codes, customs procedures, and tariff classifications.
• Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders.
• Knowledge of Canada-U.S. cross-border shipping requirements.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and shipping/logistics systems.

Job Education

• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is an asset.
