Salary: $14/hr-$19/hr DOE

Hours

The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday 9AM-6PM, Saturday 9AM-3PM and Sunday 10AM-2PM.

Full time requires four 10-hour shifts and every 4th weekend. The client is open to par-time, but it must be 10-hour shifts.

 

Dress code: Business casual. May be required to wear smocks/lab coats.

Job Description: 

Essential functions, but may not be limited to:

  • Complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Providing excellent customer service to patients, heath care providers, and insurers
  • Pull drugs from shelves and return them to the proper position when the prescription filling is completed
  • Counting, labeling, packaging and reconstituting prescription medications according to facility standards
  • Complete all required paperwork such as insurance slips, receipts, and delivery tags in preparation for a complete review by the pharmacist before the prescription is dispensed
  • Upon completion of Pharmacist check with initials, the technician scans and bags the prescription and places it in the proper pickup or delivery area
  • Inputting and retrieving information through the pharmacy management system
  • Answer the phone, taking basic refill and over-the-counter orders from customers
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot customer inquiries
  • With supervising Pharmacist permission, completes data entry and refills prescriptions with approved refills via the computer system
  • With supervising Pharmacist permission, contacts provider offices for basic questions, information or re-transmission of a prescription
  • Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
  • Request refill authorizations from prescribers
  • Processing and preparing third-party insurance claims
  • Maintaining accurate patient and client profiles
  • Assisting the pharmacist and inventory team with managing inventory control
  • Assist customers on sales floor, including cashing out sales on the point of sales system
  • Preparing reports related to sales, usage and inventory management
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment, work areas, and shelves
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness of whole pharmacy and common areas
  • Completes any additional tasks assigned by supervisor

 

Qualifications and Education

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General Excluded Parties List
  • Must pass random drug screenings
  • No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offences involving controlled substances
  • Able to pass a comprehensive background check

Work environment

  • This position is located in the pharmacy building. 
  • Reside within the continental United States
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Workdays are Monday through Friday 9AM-6PM, Saturday 9AM-3PM and Sunday 10AM-2PM.  Times may vary based on volume

 

Physical Demands

·         Primarily a standing job

·         Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.

·         Occasionally move office productivity boxes up to 20 pounds for various needs.

 

Travel required

·         Travel to and from pharmacy

·         Occasional travel requested for health fairs and vaccination clinics

 

Preferred qualifications (not required)

  • Bilingual
  • Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience
  • Valid pharmacy technician certification (CPhT)
  • Experience in medication synchronization and adherence programs
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
