Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Foreman / Estimator to oversee industrial mechanical and piping projects from estimating and planning through field execution and completion. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with piping systems, pumps, fluid transfer installations, manufacturing equipment, metal fabrication, air-handling systems, and ductwork, along with strong project coordination and estimating skills.

This position requires a combination of field leadership, technical knowledge, estimating, blueprint interpretation, and AutoCAD proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates, bids, proposals, material takeoffs, and labor projections for industrial projects.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, blueprints, and scope of work to determine labor, materials, equipment, and project requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Plan manpower, materials, equipment, and job-site activities to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Oversee installation of industrial piping, pumps, valves, and fluid-transfer systems.
  • Manage manufacturing and industrial equipment installations, including equipment layout, positioning, rigging coordination, and mechanical connections.
  • Supervise metal fabrication, including cutting, fitting, welding, assembly, and installation.
  • Oversee air-handling systems and ductwork installations.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, blueprints, and construction specifications.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to review, modify, and develop layouts, drawings, and installation plans.
  • Perform field measurements and verify existing conditions before and during projects.
  • Develop accurate material and labor takeoffs and identify potential project costs and risks.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, customers, vendors, and other contractors.
  • Monitor job-site productivity, quality, safety, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and develop practical solutions to keep projects moving.
  • Track project progress, labor hours, materials, change orders, and job costs.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to applicable codes and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to skilled trades personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Foreman, Piping Foreman, Project Foreman, Estimator, or similar industrial construction role.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial piping and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with pumps and fluid-transfer systems.
  • Experience installing manufacturing or industrial equipment.
  • Strong metal fabrication and mechanical installation knowledge.
  • Experience with air-handling systems and ductwork.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
  • AutoCAD proficiency required.
  • Strong estimating, material takeoff, and project planning skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong understanding of job-site safety and construction practices.
