CDL-A Driver

Possess a valid CDL with endorsements, if applicable
~ Meet DOT physical requirements
~ Able to read, write and speak the English language
~ Able to read and understand maps and road signs
~ Have general knowledge of DOT regulations
~ Able to determine timeframe for on-time delivery and plan route
~ Safely operate CMV through various cities and states
~ Able to back trailer up to customer docks with and without assistance
~ Able to connect/disconnect tractors and trailers
~ Able to open/close trailer doors
~ Able to climb in and out of tractors
~ Able to climb into trailer to inspect freight for proper loading and securement
~ Able to bend, stretch, lift and crawl in order to complete a pre-trip inspection
~ Able to refuel tractor and reefer units, if applicable
~ Able to add necessary fluids (oil, antifreeze, etc.) to tractor and/or trailer
~ Capable of repetitive motion for continuous driving/changing of gears
~ Able to lift at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis
~ Able to properly scale loads and adjust tandems as necessary
~ Reports all accidents and citations received
~ Able to live in tractor for numerous daysx
~ Maintains truck in clean condition
~ Able to drive in all weather and traffic conditions
~ Able to drive within the posted speed limit and slower in inclement weather
~ Perform job in extreme heat/cold
~ Able to install tire chains as required by weather conditions or the DOW-
~ Able to complete all DOT and company-required paperwork
~ Stay in good health in order to perform job safely and on time
~ Pass any DOT-required drug or alcohol tests
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
~ Other duties as assigned by management
