Job Description

We are seeking a Graphic Designer / Sign Production Specialist to join a local sign manufacturing company. This position combines graphic design, sign layout, and hands-on production using vinyl cutting equipment.

The ideal candidate has experience preparing artwork for physical production, understands proper sizing and layout, and is comfortable operating equipment to turn designs into finished products.

Job Responsibilities

• Create and modify artwork using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

• Design and lay out signage, decals, lettering, and other printed materials.

• Prepare production-ready files with accurate measurements, scaling, spacing, and alignment.

• Operate vinyl cutters and plotters to produce lettering, graphics, and signage.

• Set up cutting files and adjust machine settings for accurate production.

• Weed, apply, and prepare vinyl graphics for installation or finishing.

• Review designs for accuracy, quality, and production requirements.

• Assist with general sign production and shop operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator required.

• Previous sign layout or production layout experience strongly preferred.

• Experience operating vinyl cutters, plotters, or similar sign production equipment preferred.

• Ability to work with measurements, proportions, scaling, and precise placement of graphics.

• Understanding of vector artwork and production-ready file preparation.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Previous experience in a sign shop, print shop, or graphics production environment preferred.

This is not strictly a computer-based graphic design position. We are looking for someone who understands both the design and physical production processes, with particular emphasis on layout accuracy and vinyl cutting.
