MEDICAL RECORDS CLERK

 Lafayette, LA| $14–$15/hr. starting| Full-Time

 

We are seeking a Medical Records Specialist with extensive EHR experience and excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable assisting callers while handling sensitive medical records accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Process certified medical record requests and subpoenas for attorneys

• Handle patient, physician office, attorney, insurance, and workers’ compensation requests

• Review authorizations and log requests accurately

• Work within EHR systems, including Aprima

• Print, scan, fax, and mail medical records and documentation

• Process pre-payments, invoices, charges, and payments

• Log incoming mail, requests, and invoices

• Ensure patient charts and documents are properly scanned and uploaded

• Enter new and updated HIPAA authorizations into patient accounts

• Fax invoices, reports, and records as requested

• Run reports and balance batches of posted payments and charges

• Provide prompt and professional customer service by phone, email, fax, and other communication methods

Qualifications:

• Extensive EHR experience preferred

• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements

• Strong computer and data-entry skills

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to handle confidential information professionally

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

• Previous medical records or healthcare office experience preferred

Pay:

• $14-15/Hr.
