Position Title:  Impregnator    

Exempt/Non-Exempt:   Hourly/Non-Exempt       

Functional Area:  Production / Impregnation

Pay Range: $17.50 - $19.00/hr

Schedule: M-F 6AM - 2:30 PM, 5AM - 1:30 PM (Summer)

 

Major Function:

To support production by safely and efficiently performing impregnation operations, handling cores through applicable processing steps, maintaining required process controls and documentation, and helping ensure product is processed in accordance with applicable specifications, AS9100 quality standards, and safety requirements.

 

Major Responsibilities:

• Remove cores from fixturing.
• Match instructions to cores and follow any special work instructions.
• Gain and apply knowledge of acceptable quality levels.
• Submit sample cores for electrical pretest.
• Place accepted cores in designated baskets and lower baskets by hoist into epoxy tanks.
• Drain cores after the vacuum cycle is complete.
• Remove cores from baskets and place cores side by side on a designated table.
• Tap down the slit side of the core and inspect for telescoping.
• Re-rack cores as required by placing them in fixtures and tightening.
• Place cores on carts and move carts into curing ovens.
• Place thermocouples into the center of loads and set curing time and temperature.
• Complete all required reports and logs.
• Check and record viscosity.
• Adhere to AS9100 quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Carry out written and verbal instructions.

 

Education / Training:

Degree:   High School Diploma or GED required.

 

Experience:

Previous manufacturing, production, impregnation, epoxy processing, or related experience preferred.
