Position Title:  Cutting Machine Operator    

Exempt/Non-Exempt:   Hourly/Non-Exempt       

Functional Area:  Production / Cutting

Pay Range: $17.50 - $19.00/hr

Schedule: M-F 5 AM - 1:30 PM

 

Major Function:

To support production by safely and efficiently operating machines to cut cores, determining saw blade type and cutting procedures according to work instructions or Senior Operator instructions, installing and replacing cutting blades, monitoring cutting fluid, positioning cores and coolant flow, completing required paperwork, and ensuring work is completed in accordance with AS9100 quality standards and safety requirements.

 

Major Responsibilities:

• Operate machines to cut cores.
• Determine saw blade type and cutting procedures according to MPS or Senior Operator instructions.
• Install and replace cutting blades.
• Check the level of cutting fluid and add coolant as needed.
• Set core on a plate or cutting fixture.
• Use a handle to lower the cutting blade.
• Position flow of coolant against blade and core.
• Ensure the blade remains straight and the cut on the core is straight.
• Submit core for FAI.
• Complete all required paperwork and reports.
• Count and record quantity of cores cut and document on MPS.
• Move cores to the next operation.
• Adhere to AS9100 quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Carry out written and verbal instructions.
• Learn and identify the level of quality expected and react accordingly when quality standards are not achieved.

 

Education / Training:

Degree:   High School Diploma or GED required.

 

Experience:

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
