Facilities Technician (Contract)

Pay Rate: $28.00/hour or based on experience 
Schedule: 20-40 hours per week, flexible based on facility needs

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Facilities Technician to support maintenance, repairs, and electrical safety initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an individual with strong maintenance experience, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general facility maintenance and repairs, including:
    • Plumbing
    • Lighting
    • Minor HVAC troubleshooting
    • Door and dock maintenance
    • Carpentry and painting
    • General facility upkeep
  • Identify and address electrical safety hazards such as:
    • Exposed wiring
    • Improper grounding
    • Overloaded circuits
    • Damaged outlets and panels
    • Lockout/Tagout concerns
  • Assist with electrical panel and arc-flash labeling.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and safety walkthroughs.
  • Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from production and warehouse teams.
  • Support equipment moves, production line setup, and workspace reconfigurations.
  • Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe work practices. 

Required Qualifications

  • Current OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical systems (120V, 208V, and 480V).
  • Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and panel schedules.
  • Experience with general building maintenance, plumbing, mechanical repairs, and basic HVAC systems.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and safety awareness.
  • Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical work as needed.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification.
  • NFPA 70E Arc Flash Safety Training or Certification.
  • Electrical certification, trade school training, or journeyman license.
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training or certification.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environments.
  • Experience working around battery systems, energy storage equipment, or electrical manufacturing operations.
