We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician.  In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and residential settings. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, electrical diagnostics skills, and experience working with complex HVAC equipment. Pay DOE 28.00-30.00hr 

 

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and perform electrical system troubleshooting to identify faults accurately.
  • Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and building automation system diagrams to facilitate precise repairs and installations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend system lifespan.
  • Perform mechanical systems repair involving plumbing connections, refrigerant handling, and mechanical component replacement.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain detailed service records, document repairs performed, and communicate findings clearly to clients.
  • Assist in the design and planning of HVAC system installations tailored to building specifications.
  • Operate hand tools safely and effectively during installation or repair procedures.
  • Support ongoing training on new technologies such as building automation systems and advanced refrigeration techniques.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HVAC technician with a background in construction projects or service roles.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with HVAC system repair and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration principles, and HVAC design concepts.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC applications is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues using appropriate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters.
  • Experience with HVAC system installation, repair, and maintenance in diverse environments.
  • Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and electrical systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
  • Valid van driver’s license preferred for on-site transportation.
  • Additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or boiler operation are a plus.
