Forklift Operator

Overview:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely moving, storing, and tracking materials and finished goods throughout the facility. This role combines hands-on forklift operation with inventory coordination and basic computer work to keep materials flowing smoothly and records accurate.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Forklift Operation

·         Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered equipment

·         Load and unload trucks, containers, and delivery vehicles

·         Move raw materials, components, and finished goods within the facility

·         Stack and organize pallets in assigned warehouse locations

·         Perform pre-shift forklift inspections and report any equipment issues

 

Materials Management

·         Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against purchase orders

·         Label, sort, and store materials in the correct locations

·         Coordinate with production to ensure materials are available when needed

·         Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory

·         Identify and report damaged, expired, or non-conforming materials

·         Maintain organized and clean storage areas at all times

 

Computer & Recordkeeping

·         Enter receiving and shipping data into inventory or ERP software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar)

·         Print and scan shipping labels, barcodes, and work orders

Qualifications:

Must Have

·         Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain one upon hire)

·         At least 5-10 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting

·         Basic computer skills – able to type, use email, and navigate software programs

·         Ability to read, count, and follow written instructions in English

·         Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
