Skilled Laborer / Welder Helper

Express Employment Professionals is hiring Skilled Laborers for a leading structural steel fabrication company in Apache Junction, AZ. This position is ideal for candidates with construction, fabrication, or industrial experience who can assist welders, operate lifts, and work with hand tools in both shop and field environments.

$18.00 - $22.00/hour DOE

Schedule

Full-time | Monday-Friday

Position Summary

The Skilled Laborer will support welding and fabrication crews in the construction and installation of steel structures, canopies, carports, and related products. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working at heights using scissor lifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist welders and fabricators with steel assembly and installation
• Operate scissor lifts safely to access elevated work areas
• Use hand tools, power tools, screw guns, drills, grinders, and measuring equipment
• Move, stage, and organize materials for production and installation
• Perform basic mechanical assembly and fastening tasks
• Load and unload steel materials and equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements

Qualifications

• Previous construction, fabrication, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred
• Experience operating a scissor lift or willingness to be trained
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools, including screw guns
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in Arizona weather
• Dependable attendance and positive work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

• Structural steel or welding helper experience
• OSHA certification
• Forklift experience
• Experience reading basic drawings or measurements
