Forklift - 2nd shift

Express Employment is seeking a 2nd Shift Forklift Material Handler for a great company in Shelbyville. This is an Evaluation Hire position.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and retrieve goods and raw materials safely and efficiently 
• Receive, unload, and store incoming shipments, ensuring proper placement and organization of materials 
• Prepare and secure loads for transport, including packaging, labeling, and shrink-wrapping finished products 
• Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts, and document material movements to support inventory control
• Assist in kitting, allocation, and material condition management, including monitoring expiration dates and material quality 
• Ensure production and storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and regulatory standards 
• Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts and other equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns 

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is typically required; some positions may prefer an associate degree or technical certification 
• Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment safely 
• Knowledge of inventory management systems (e.g., SAP) and basic recordkeeping 
• Understanding of workplace safety regulations, including OSHA standards and cGMP guidelines in pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
• Physical stamina and ability to lift, move, and handle heavy materials safely 
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow instructions accurately

Must be able to pass a Drug Screen and Background Screening
