AutoCAD Technician / Land Survey Draftsperson

 

Job Summary

The AutoCAD Technician is responsible for processing field data and creating accurate, detailed survey drawings including Boundary, Topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, and Subdivision Plats. This role works closely with field crews and Professional Land Surveyors (PLS) to translate raw field data into finalized deliverables.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Process raw field data (points, line work, surface models) collected by survey crews.
• Draft ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and as-builts.
• Research, interpret, and plot deeds, historical plats, easements, and right-of-way maps.
• Perform survey computations, including boundary closures, point calculations, and volume calculations.
• Maintain and apply company CAD standards, layers, and templates consistently across all projects.
• Communicate with field crews to resolve missing or conflicting data.

 

Qualifications & Skills

 

• High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Direct experience drafting for land surveying or civil engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of survey mathematics, coordinate systems, and legal descriptions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.

 

Education & Experience

 

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in CAD/Drafting or related field preferred.
