Construction Site/ Asphalt Crew Laborers Needed

Location: Liberty, SC
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $17.00–$19.00/hour, depending on experience

Position Summary

Express is partnering with a asphalt company in Liberty, SC and we are seeking a dependable and hardworking Asphalt Crew / Heavy Equipment Operators to join the team. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working outdoors in the elements and has experience in construction, landscaping, asphalt, or another physically demanding environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and understand the basics of construction site operations and asphalt paving. Candidates must be willing to work as part of a team and take pride in quality workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing construction sites by clearing debris and ensuring proper site conditions for asphalt application.
• Assist with asphalt installation, including shoveling, luting, raking, and other paving-related duties.
• Perform general labor duties as needed to support the asphalt crew.
• Work closely with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and correctly.
• Follow directions and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all company and job-site safety protocols.
• Inspect work areas and equipment and report any safety or quality concerns.
• Perform duties in varying weather conditions and outdoor environments.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality workmanship and attention to detail.
• Operate heavy equipment, including but not limited to:
  • Skid steer
  • Roller
  • Asphalt paver

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience working outdoors in the elements is required.
• Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
  • Asphalt/construction
  • Landscaping
  • Outdoor labor
  • Non-climate-controlled facilities
  • Heavy equipment operation
• Proficient in operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, rollers, and pavers.
• Previous construction site experience with an understanding of asphalt paving processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Dependable and willing to work the scheduled hours.
• Must be safety-conscious and able to follow instructions and job-site safety requirements.

Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to:

• Climb and safely navigate construction equipment and job sites.
• Grasp and handle tools and materials.
• Push and pull equipment and materials.
• Bend at the waist frequently.
• Walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.

Monday–Friday
6:00 AM–5 PM
$17.00–$19.00/hour, depending on experience

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and being part of a construction crew!
