Tile & Grout Apprentice

 

Job Type: Full-Time

 Schedule: Approximately 40 Hours Per Week | Monday through Saturday as Needed

 Work Location: Customer Homes and Residential Job Sites

The company is seeking a dependable, hardworking Tile & Grout Apprentice to learn a specialized trade in residential tile and grout restoration. No extensive tile experience is required. What matters most is your work ethic, reliability, willingness to learn, attention to detail, and ability to provide outstanding customer service.

 

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, take pride in quality craftsmanship, and are comfortable working in customers' homes while maintaining professionalism and respect.

 

Services You'll Learn to Perform

 

Our technicians provide the following services:

 

Tile and grout cleaning

Grout color sealing

Re-grouting

Silicone caulk removal and replacement

Tile repair and replacement

 

Experience with demolition or construction is helpful, especially for water-damage repairs and selective tile removal, but it is not required. Major shower or tub-wall rebuilds are typically assigned to specialized contractors.

 

Responsibilities

 

As a Tile & Grout Apprentice, you will:

 

Assist experienced technicians with tile and grout restoration projects

Follow established cleaning, preparation, application, and cleanup procedures

Prepare work areas and protect customers' homes and belongings

Learn proper techniques for grout cleaning, sealing, repairs, and caulking

Maintain a clean and organized worksite

Take job progress photos as required

Communicate professionally with customers when appropriate

Help load, unload, and transport tools and equipment

Follow company safety procedures and quality standards

Complete assigned tasks with attention to detail and consistency

Qualifications

Required

Dependable and punctual

Able to arrive at assigned job sites at scheduled times

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Ability to follow detailed, multi-step processes

Good communication and customer service skills

Professional appearance and behavior

Reliable transportation

Ability to use a smartphone for work-related communication and photos

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, reach, and perform detailed work for extended periods

Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Preferred

Construction, maintenance, handyman, flooring, tile, painting, cleaning, restoration, or demolition experience

Experience using hand and power tools

Experience working in customer-facing environments

Training & Work Structure

 

New apprentices will typically meet an authorized company employee at the assigned jobsite each day. Company team members handle customer coordination, payment collection, CRM management, and final project closeout.

 

Apprentices will focus on learning the trade, developing technical skills, and assisting with project completion. Access to company systems and customer management software may be considered later based on demonstrated reliability, successful training completion, and appropriate data-handling practices.

 

Physical Requirements

Lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely

Load and unload tools and equipment

Perform detailed floor-level work for extended periods

Frequently kneel, bend, crouch, reach, and stand

Work in residential environments while maintaining a clean and professional workspace
