Skilled Tile & Grout Technician

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Approximately 40 Hours Per Week (Approximately 8 am to 4:30 pm)
Work Days: Monday through Saturday (as needed)
Location: Field-Based, Customer Homes

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Skilled Tile & Grout Technician who enjoys physical work, pays close attention to detail, communicates well with customers, and takes pride in delivering quality results.

What You'll Do

Our technicians perform the following core services:

• Tile and grout cleaning
• Grout color sealing
• Re-grouting
• Removing and replacing silicone caulk
• Tile repair and replacement

Demolition experience is a plus, particularly for water-damage repairs and selective tile or substrate removal.

Responsibilities

Tile Repair & Installation

• Protect tubs, shower pans, flooring, fixtures, and surrounding finishes before work begins
• Set up organized work areas and maintain dust and debris control
• Safely remove damaged tile while minimizing impact to surrounding surfaces
• Remove failed grout, silicone, drywall, backer board, and other damaged materials
• Identify loose tile, moisture damage, substrate failure, and other conditions requiring escalation
• Measure, cut, fit, and install backer board products including cement board and Hardie Backer
• Apply waterproofing and properly treat seams, transitions, penetrations, and fasteners
• Mix and apply thin-set mortar
• Cut, set, align, and space replacement tiles
• Remove and replace cementitious or epoxy grout
• Install clean, color-matched silicone joints
• Reinstall trim pieces and transitions as required
• Perform final quality inspections and maintain a clean worksite throughout the project

Customer Service

• Communicate professionally with customers upon arrival, during the project, and before departure
• Explain job progress and immediately report unexpected conditions
• Respect customers' homes and personal property
• Leave every work area clean and orderly
• Participate in customer walkthroughs and quality reviews when applicable

Qualifications

Required

• Previous hands-on experience with tile installation, repair, grout work, or similar construction trades
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Reliable transportation to assigned jobsites
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, reach, and perform detailed floor-level work for extended periods

Preferred

• Tile repair and replacement experience
• Selective demolition experience
• Water-damage repair experience
• Knowledge of grout installation and removal
• Experience replacing silicone caulk
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Vehicle capable of transporting equipment (not required)

• Jobsite locations and reporting instructions are usually provided the day prior
