Lab Technician – Grain Refining

Temporary | Full-Time | Day Shift - 4AM Start  to 12:30PM

Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a local grain refining company to find a dependable Lab Technician to join their Lab department. This is a temporary position for an indeterminate length of time, with the potential to become a temp-to-hire opportunity if business needs continue and internal approval is obtained.

Position Overview

The Lab Technician will be responsible for performing grain refining laboratory work that plays an important role in the company's overall lab and quality processes. Because downstream laboratory and quality processes depend on the completion of this work, the scheduled hours are strict and reliable attendance is essential.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable working in a laboratory environment, and interested in learning additional laboratory functions over time.

What You'll Do

• Perform grain refining laboratory testing and related processes
• Follow established laboratory procedures and safety protocols
• Accurately document test results and maintain laboratory records
• Work carefully with samples and laboratory equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Communicate effectively with laboratory and quality personnel
• Meet strict production and laboratory timelines
• Potentially cross-train in additional laboratory areas, including:
  • Wet Lab – additional laboratory testing and processes
  • Metallography – laboratory work involving microscopes and related tasks

What We're Looking For

• Previous laboratory, quality control, manufacturing, or related experience is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to follow written procedures and instructions
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work a strict, established schedule (4AM-12:30PM)
• Comfortable learning new processes, equipment, and laboratory procedures
• Ability to work independently while also being part of a team
• Willingness and flexibility to cross-train in other laboratory functions as opportunities become available

Additional Details

The selected candidate may be asked to participate in a pre-start facility tour and meet with the company's Quality Manager through Microsoft Teams as part of the selection process.

This position is currently temporary, and the length of the assignment is undetermined. If the business need continues and the right candidate is selected, the company may seek approval to transition the position to a permanent role. A permanent position is not guaranteed.

 

Pay

Anticipated pay: $19.00–$20.00/hour
Final pay rate pending client approval.
