Tool & Die Maker

Join a Growing Automotive Manufacturing Team

A large, stable automotive manufacturer is expanding its Tool & Die Department and is looking to add multiple Tool & Die Makers to its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys machining, welding, troubleshooting, and working with tooling in a high-volume production environment. You'll join a team of long-tenured professionals who take pride in their work, support one another, and understand the critical role tooling plays in keeping production moving.

If you're looking for a long-term career with strong leadership, job stability, and opportunities to continue developing your skills, we'd like to talk with you.

What You'll Do

As a Tool & Die Maker, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and improving tooling used in a large-scale automotive stamping operation.

This is not a custom machine shop where you'll spend days or weeks working on a single project. Instead, you'll be part of a fast-paced environment where priorities shift throughout the day based on production needs. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple repairs, adapt quickly, and focus on the highest-impact work first.

Responsibilities include:

  • Repairing and maintaining stamping dies and related equipment
  • Troubleshooting tooling issues that impact production
  • Performing preventative maintenance on dies and tooling systems
  • Operating manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, and surface grinders
  • Setting up and operating CNC machining equipment
  • Welding and fabricating tooling components as needed
  • Assisting with die changes and supporting production operations
  • Reading blueprints, prints, and measuring parts using precision instruments
  • Working with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to resolve tooling challenges
  • Contributing ideas for continuous improvement and process optimization

What We're Looking For

We understand that great candidates come from different backgrounds. Not every applicant will have experience in every area, and the company is willing to invest in the right person.

Ideal candidates will have experience in some or most of the following:

  • Manual machining (mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses)
  • CNC setup and operation
  • MIG, TIG, or ARC welding

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
  • Able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Team-oriented and coachable

  • Dependable and committed to long-term success
