Class C Back up driver

Looking for a  Class C Driver, primarily operates the Company 12’ stake bed truck for local deliveries and pickups and serves as a competent backup driver for the 24’ stake bed truck used for Los Angeles routes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Load parts in truck to make delivery

● Ensure load is safe and secure

● Verify all required paperwork is present

Communicate with shipping/receiving departments of customers and suppliers

● Carry phone so that contact with Company can be maintained at all times

Maintain vehicle maintenance logs

● Have vehicle(s) cleaned as needed

● Notify supervisor when abnormal conditions exist and follow up so action required is completed

Serve as backup driver for local and Los Angeles routes

· Operate the 12’ stake bed truck for local deliveries and pickups

· Remain trained and available to operate the 24’ stake bed truck for Los Angeles routes

· Plan routes, communicate delays, and follow traffic and company safety requirements

Perform inspection when not assigned to driving duties

· Monitor molded parts as they come out of the mold for visible defects

· Separate or flag suspect parts before they proceed to inspection

· Report recurring issues, abnormal conditions, or quality concerns to appropriate personnel

● Solid interpersonal skills; ability to interact with varying individuals internally and externally

● Effective communication skills

● Ability to recognize visible part defects and follow quality procedures for identifying, separating, or reporting suspect material

● Ability to remain alert and focused while monitoring production activity and molded parts during hot inspection

● Bilingual preferred

Experience

● California License and clean driving record (license for minimum of 4 years)

● Experience loading and transporting materials

● Experience maintaining sales/procurement order paperwork
