Maintenance Technician - Fireplaces & Pellet Stoves
Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour

About the Position
Express Employment is seeking a reliable, motivated Maintenance Technician to join our client's team. This position involves cleaning, maintaining, inspecting, and performing minor troubleshooting on gas fireplaces, wood-burning fireplaces, pellet stoves, inserts, and venting systems. No industry experience is required. We will provide training on the specific products and systems we service.
This is a hands-on position that offers growth opportunities, pay increases based on performance and skill development, and eventually the use of a company vehicle.
Job Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain gas fireplaces, stoves, and inserts
- Clean and maintain wood-burning fireplaces, stoves, and inserts
- Sweep and inspect chimneys and venting systems
- Clean and maintain pellet stoves and inserts
- Sweep and maintain pellet stove venting systems
- Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Follow manufacturer service manuals and procedures
- Use company software and iPads to track service appointments and complete work orders
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment at customer locations
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a valid driver's license and good driving record
- Be mechanically inclined and able to understand how mechanical and electrical systems work
- Be comfortable using hand tools and power tools
- Have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Be detail-oriented and able to follow written instructions and technical manuals
- Be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Be comfortable using technology, including iPads and software applications
- Be comfortable working on ladders, roofs, and at heights
- Be willing to work in dirty conditions and around soot, ash, and debris
- Be able to work in both hot and cold weather conditions
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
