Lot & Facility Monitor

Salary: $23.00 – $25.00 DOE
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable and responsible Lot & Facility Monitor to help maintain the safety, security, and cleanliness of a local shopping center and surrounding commercial property in Eureka.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled and intermittent security checks throughout the property.
- Walk the perimeter and visually monitor for vandalism, unauthorized camping, loitering, litter, or other property concerns.
- Maintain a professional, calm, and respectful presence while on-site.
- When appropriate and safe, politely ask unauthorized individuals to leave the premises. No physical contact or confrontation is permitted.
- Pick up litter and assist with keeping the property clean and orderly.
- Document security checks and complete required time sheets.
- Notify law enforcement, fire personnel, or other appropriate authorities when a situation requires immediate or prompt attention.
- Follow established safety procedures and use good judgment when responding to situations.
- Perform other related watchman duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
- Must be comfortable working independently and conducting regular walking patrols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to remain calm, courteous, and professional when interacting with members of the public.
- Must be able to recognize situations that require contacting appropriate authorities rather than attempting to handle them personally.
- Ability to perform light cleanup and litter removal.
- Previous security, property monitoring, maintenance, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk the property perimeter and remain on your feet for portions of the shift.
- Ability to perform light cleaning and litter removal.
- Ability to safely use provided personal protective equipment and job-related equipment.
Equipment/PPE
A reflective safety vest must be worn while working. Additional PPE and equipment may include safety glasses, work gloves, protective gloves, disposable face masks, a flashlight, and cleaning supplies.
Important: This position is focused on observation, property monitoring, cleanliness, documentation, and reporting. Employees are not expected to physically confront, restrain, or remove individuals from the property.
