Third Shift Machine Operator
The Third Shift Machine Operator is responsible for operating production machinery in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This position helps ensure that parts are produced safely, efficiently, and according to established quality standards. The operator will monitor equipment, inspect finished parts, and work with team members to meet daily production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate production and manufacturing machinery according to established procedures.
- Load and unload parts, materials, and components as required.
- Monitor machines during operation and identify equipment or production issues.
- Perform routine visual and quality inspections of manufactured parts.
- Use measuring or inspection tools as required to verify product specifications.
- Complete production paperwork and accurately record production and quality information.
- Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Report defective parts, machine malfunctions, and safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with basic machine adjustments, changeovers, and troubleshooting as trained and authorized.
- Meet established production, quality, and efficiency expectations.
- Work cooperatively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, quality staff, and other production employees.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, machine operation, automotive production, or related experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to recognize quality defects and report problems promptly.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work the scheduled second shift.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements involving the hands, arms, and upper body.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift materials as required by the position.
- Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment, machinery, noise, and other typical production-floor conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
Work Schedule
This is a third-shift manufacturing position. Training will be done on first shift. Once trained, you'll move to third shift. Employees are expected to report to work on time, maintain reliable attendance, and be available for overtime or additional hours when production needs require.
