Plant Maintenance Technician – $20/hr

We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Plant Maintenance Technician II for a full-time opportunity with an established company in the Alabaster area.

Starting Pay: $20/hr
Pay Potential: Up to $23/hr after one year
Additional Pay: $0.50/hr shift differential when working 2nd shift
Bonuses: Quarterly bonuses (4 per year) + Christmas bonus
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts

⚠️ Important Work Environment

This is a HOT manufacturing facility with operating presses. Temperatures can reach approximately 110°F, and employees should expect to sweat and work in high temperatures throughout the shift.

Candidates must be comfortable working in this environment before applying.

Shift Schedule

Summer – 3rd Shift:
8:00 PM–6:00 AM, Sunday night through Thursday morning

Fall – 2nd Shift:
Approximately 2:30 PM–11:30 PM + $0.50/hr shift differential

Candidates must have flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift and required overtime as needed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist with equipment and facility maintenance in a 3-shift, multi-craft maintenance operation

• Monitor plant equipment and identify potential problems

• Perform routine facility and equipment checks

• Inspect fire extinguishers and other safety equipment

• Report equipment issues and maintenance concerns

• Work around electrical systems ranging from 50 to 1,200 volts

• Assist with preventative maintenance and repairs

• Follow all plant safety regulations

• Maintain clean and orderly work areas

What We're Looking For

• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Ability to demonstrate mechanical troubleshooting skills

• Comfortable working in a hot industrial/manufacturing environment

• Able to stand and walk throughout the plant for extended periods

• Able to repeatedly bend, twist, reach, and perform physical maintenance work

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs occasionally

• Valid driver's license

• Reliable transportation

• Ability to pass a Physical Job Function Assessment

• Ability to pass required drug screen and background check

A Plus

Previous industrial maintenance experience involving:

• Hydraulic systems

• Pneumatic systems

• Equipment repair and maintenance

• Manufacturing or plant maintenance

• Multi-craft maintenance environments
