Passenger Safety Coordinator

 

Job Summary: Are you a dependable, caring professional who thrives on keeping kids safe? A thriving private school transportation team in West Miami-Dade is seeking a responsible, safety-minded School Bus Monitor to help ensure students arrive home safely during afternoon dismissal. In this hands-on role, you'll work side by side with the driver as the friendly, watchful presence on board—supervising students, taking attendance, and maintaining a calm, respectful environment on every route. Requirements:

• Supervise students as they board, ride, and exit the bus, and take and verify student attendance on every route.
• Ensure students remain properly seated and follow all passenger safety rules, maintaining a calm, safe, and respectful environment on the vehicle.
• Monitor student behavior and assist younger students as needed, reporting any safety or behavioral concerns to the driver and school staff.
• Communicate professionally with drivers, school staff, parents, and students; assist the driver during emergencies; and check the bus after each route to ensure no student or belongings are left behind, following all company safety procedures.

 

Schedule & Pay:

• Part-Time – Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM–5:30 PM (schedule is part-time and dependent on the school year)
• $17.00 per hour

 

Qualifications:

• Must speak and understand English and be available Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM–5:30 PM, with excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Patient, attentive, responsible, and safety-conscious, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with children and adults.
• Comfortable supervising school-age children and able to successfully complete required employment screening and training; experience with children, schools, camps, childcare, or transportation is preferred but not required.
