AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE WRITER

 

Location:  Stafford Area

Employment type:  Temp-to-Perm

Schedule:  M-F, 8am-5pm

Position Summary/Responsibilities:  Serve as primary point of contact between customers and the service department.  Greets customers, obtain vehicle concerns and repair needs through customer consultation, prepare repair orders, clearly communicate recommended services, prepare repair estimates, coordinate repairs with service technicians, and ensure an exceptional customer service experience throughout the repair process.  Completes all other administrative duties related automotive repairs and associated claims such as: waranty, insurance,and ensure compliance with company policy and procedures.  The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, sales oriented, and knowledgeable about automotive maintenance and repair services.  Prior Service Military highly encouraged to apply with skills in the automotive or heavy equipment repair backgrounds and experience.

Qualifications (Required):

• High School diploma or GED
• Previous customer service experience (preferably in the automotive repair environment)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver's license

(Preferred)

• Previous automotive service advisor or service writer experience
• Knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair procedures
• Experience with shop management or dealership maintenance software
• Sales experience
• ASE Service Consultation Certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to work in an environment exposed to vehicle noise, exhaust, and varying temperatures
