Maintenance Mechanic – Diesel & Heavy Equipment | 2nd Shift

Pay: Up to $35.00 per hour, based on experience
Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:30 PM–11:00 PM

A growing industrial manufacturing operation is hiring an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for its second-shift maintenance team.

This is a hands-on position for a mechanic with a strong background in diesel engines, heavy equipment, hydraulics, production machinery, and mechanical troubleshooting. You'll be responsible for keeping vehicles, on-road/off-road equipment, and manufacturing machinery operating safely and efficiently.

Candidates must have their own tools and a resume demonstrating solid diesel and/or heavy equipment maintenance experience.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines
• Maintain and repair heavy equipment and on/off-road vehicles
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical problems
• Repair and maintain hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, transmissions, engines, and related components
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial production equipment
• Assemble, install, test, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical systems
• Use multimeters, hand tools, power tools, and other diagnostic equipment
• Inspect machinery and equipment for defects, hazards, wear, and potential failures
• Determine the cause of equipment breakdowns and complete necessary repairs
• Identify unsafe equipment conditions and communicate concerns to management
• Complete maintenance assignments safely, accurately, and on schedule
• Follow OSHA and facility safety procedures
• Maintain a safe and organized work area
• Perform additional maintenance duties as needed

Required Experience

We're looking for candidates with:

• 2+ years of diesel and/or heavy equipment maintenance experience
• 2+ years maintaining on-road or off-road equipment and vehicles
• 2+ years working with production or industrial machinery
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, mechanical systems, and electrical components
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, multimeters, hand tools, and power tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to diagnose breakdowns and determine appropriate repairs
• Strong safety awareness
• Must provide your own mechanic tools
