HVAC Technician – Commercial & Industrial

Location: Briggs, TX / North Austin Area
Pay: $25.00+ per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Job Type: Full-Time | Day Shift

A large, advanced manufacturing and testing facility is hiring an HVAC Technician / Facilities HVAC Technician III to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical HVAC, refrigeration, and environmental control systems.

What You'll Do

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain complex commercial and industrial HVAC systems
• Perform advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures
• Maintain and optimize rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, chillers, exhaust systems, make-up air units, and dehumidification systems
• Work on HVAC equipment ranging from approximately 5 tons to 100+ tons
• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance
• Troubleshoot HVAC electrical systems, control wiring, refrigeration circuits, and mechanical components
• Support temperature- and humidity-controlled production areas, labs, clean environments, and other critical spaces
• Assist with Building Automation System (BAS) troubleshooting
• Support chilled water, hydronic, specialty process cooling, compressed air, and vacuum systems
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, specifications, and equipment documentation
• Inspect and oversee third-party HVAC installations, repairs, upgrades, and retrofits
• Review vendor work and help ensure installations meet facility requirements
• Support facility improvement and equipment upgrade projects
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and general facilities maintenance teams
• Maintain accurate preventative maintenance and repair documentation using CMMS/digital work-order systems
• Provide technical guidance and support to less-experienced maintenance technicians
• Help identify reliability improvements and reduce equipment downtime

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC experience
• Extensive hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial HVAC equipment
• Experience installing, servicing, or commissioning RTUs, split systems, ductwork, and related HVAC equipment
• Advanced troubleshooting experience with HVAC systems ranging from approximately 5 tons to 100+ tons
• Strong understanding of HVAC electrical schematics and control wiring
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration circuits and system diagnostics
• Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or mission-critical facility
• EPA Universal Certification – REQUIRED
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications
• Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs with minimal supervision
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Safety-focused and dependable

This is a hands-on facilities position. Candidates must be comfortable:

• Standing and walking throughout the workday
• Climbing ladders and accessing equipment
• Using hand and power tools
• Lifting and carrying equipment, tools, and materials
• Performing repetitive maintenance and repair tasks
• Working in active industrial and manufacturing environments
• Working occasionally overtime or weekends when operational needs require it
• Participating in an on-call rotation as needed
• Supporting additional nearby facilities when required
