Warehouse Team Lead (Afternoon Shift)
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Team Lead to oversee afternoon-shift operations in a fast-paced distribution environment. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this hands-on leadership role coordinates daily warehouse operations, supports team performance, and helps maintain productivity, safety, and quality standards.
The successful candidate will lead by example, provide guidance and training to warehouse associates, and actively participate in warehouse operations as required. This role is ideal for a warehouse professional who enjoys developing people, driving operational excellence, and contributing to a positive, team-focused culture.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Warehouse Team Lead, you will:
Lead, coordinate, and support warehouse associates throughout the afternoon shift
Assign and prioritize daily workloads to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time
Monitor team performance and productivity while providing coaching and guidance
Train and mentor new employees, helping them succeed from day one
Promote a strong culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Operate Raymond Reach and Cherry Picker equipment when required to support workflow demands
Assist with inventory control activities, cycle counts, and order accuracy initiatives
Ensure warehouse procedures and operational standards are consistently followed
Collaborate with Warehouse Management to resolve operational challenges and improve processes
Support special projects and other warehouse initiatives as needed
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a Warehouse Lead, Team Lead, Lead Hand, or Supervisory role
Valid Raymond Reach and Cherry Picker certification/license
Experience using RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Strong understanding of inventory control, cycle counts, and warehouse operations
Health & Safety certification or equivalent safety training
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and warehouse reporting tools
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to motivate and develop team members while maintaining high standards
Ability to lift to 40 lbs regularly
Preferred Skills
Experience leading teams in a distribution or high-volume warehouse environment

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced operational setting
