Our client, a Print Shop in Scarborough, is looking for a Rewinder Machine Operator to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:

• Occasionally set up, and operate rewinder machine to cut and convert large rolls into smaller finished rolls to produce labels
• Inspect materials for defects ensuring high quality of materials produced
• Use ruler to measure products and convert fractions to decimals
• Lift printed rolls of labels
• Troubleshoot machines and report any breakdowns and possible quality defects
• Package and stack completed rolls onto skids
• Strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

• 1-2 years of Machine operation experience
• Basic math skills (able to convert fractions to decimals)
• Solid understanding of how to use rulers and/or tape measures
• Able to lift 30-60lbs
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Comfortable standing for long periods
• Good communications skills (verbal and written)
• Team player and able to work with minimal supervision
• Coachable, reliable, and willing to learn
• Safety boots required

 Bonus Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating printing machines (asset)
• Experience in a production environment
• Previous work experience in paper or paper converting industry
• Good problem-solving skills and able to multitask.

Compensation and Hours:

• Monday to Friday 8:00am – 3:30pm (hours may vary)
• Pay rate: $18-20 per hour (based on experience)
