Director of Technology & Innovation

Pay: $105,000 - $125,000 annually
Position Overview
A growing mortgage servicing organization is seeking an experienced and innovative Director of Technology & Innovation to lead the company's technology strategy, software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems administration, and technology operations.
This role serves as the organization's senior technology leader and is responsible for driving innovation, developing proprietary technology solutions, supporting business growth, and ensuring a secure, reliable, and scalable technology environment.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership skills and a passion for leveraging technology, automation, artificial intelligence, and data-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Leadership
- Lead the overall technology function, including software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems administration, support services, and technology operations.
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and long-term growth strategies.
- Establish priorities, manage technology initiatives, and ensure successful project execution.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to technology team members, contractors, and vendors.
Software Development & Innovation
- Oversee the development and enhancement of internally developed applications, automation tools, reporting platforms, integrations, and AI-driven solutions.
- Establish and maintain software development lifecycle standards, including requirements management, testing, deployment, documentation, and change management.
- Manage development backlogs and technology project priorities.
- Drive the adoption of emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, automation, and workflow optimization solutions.
Infrastructure & IT Operations
- Oversee servers, cloud environments, networks, endpoints, telecommunications, applications, and technology assets.
- Ensure technology systems remain reliable, secure, and scalable.
- Establish service levels, ticket management processes, and support standards.
- Lead disaster recovery, backup management, and business continuity planning efforts.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Direct cybersecurity initiatives, including access management, vulnerability management, endpoint security, patching, monitoring, and incident response.
- Support audits, examinations, risk assessments, and security reviews.
- Ensure compliance with information security requirements and best practices.
- Maintain strong controls protecting company, borrower, employee, and client information.
Business Partnership & Strategy
- Partner with leadership and operational teams to identify opportunities for technology-driven improvements.
- Evaluate and implement solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, service quality, and operational controls.
- Support strategic growth initiatives through technology innovation and process transformation.
- Provide regular updates to leadership regarding projects, priorities, risks, and technology performance.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in information technology, software development, infrastructure management, technology operations, or related fields.
- Experience leading technology teams, vendors, contractors, or technical resources.
- Strong understanding of software development, systems administration, cloud environments, networking, and enterprise technology operations.
- Experience managing technology projects, priorities, and competing business demands.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with APIs, systems integrations, databases, and business applications.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience with artificial intelligence, Generative AI, conversational AI, automation, workflow technologies, and emerging technology solutions.
- Experience with cybersecurity programs, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Experience within mortgage servicing, financial services, banking, or regulated industries.
- Relevant certifications in technology, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development, or project management.
