Vaski Punch Press Operator (3rdd Shift) $20.75/HOUR

A company in Santa Teresa, NM needs Vaski Punch Press Operators. The Vaski Punch Press Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and monitoring specialized CNC electric punch press equipment used to cut, shape, and punch holes in metal flat bars, busbars, and other metal components.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC machinery, punch presses, or other metal-fabrication equipment and be comfortable reading blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings. Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to workplace safety are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Vaski CNC electric punch press equipment according to production requirements.
• Load, align, and change punching tools, dies, and related hardware based on technical drawings, specifications, and production schedules.
• Program machine controls by entering accurate measurements, dimensions, tooling information, and operating parameters.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and production specifications.
• Properly position and feed metal flat bars, busbars, sheets, and other raw materials onto the automated machine bed.
• Monitor machine operation, cycle speeds, automation flow, and production output to ensure efficient and consistent operation.
• Inspect completed parts for accuracy, quality, and proper dimensions.
• Use measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify finished products meet specifications.
• Identify and report machine malfunctions, tooling issues, material defects, or quality concerns.
• Make appropriate machine adjustments to maintain product quality and production requirements.
• Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Complete production documentation and accurately record production and quality information.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors, quality personnel, maintenance, and other production team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of experience in metal fabrication, CNC machinery, punch press operation, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Previous Vaski Punch Press experience is preferred but not required; experience with comparable CNC punch press equipment will be considered.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, work orders, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
• Basic mathematical skills, including measurements, dimensions, fractions, and tolerances.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot basic machine and tooling issues.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a production team.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, and move materials in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to handle metal materials and components safely.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and appropriate footwear.
• Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This position is performed in a manufacturing/production environment and may involve exposure to moving machinery, metal materials, noise, dust, and other typical manufacturing conditions. Employees are expected to follow all safety policies, operating procedures, and PPE requirements at all times.
