Our Scarborough client, a leading wholesale distributor and fabricator of plastic materials, is looking for a CNC Router Operator to join their team!

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC routers and CNC machinery to cut, shape, and fabricate plastic materials
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings based on production requirements
  • Install appropriate cutting tools, bits, and machine attachments on CNC machines
  • Read and determine cutting parameters to adjust machine settings
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as required
  • Perform quality inspections using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and squares
  • Troubleshoot equipment and identify production issues to minimize downtime
  • Remove finished products from equipment and maintain accurate production counts
  • Operate additional fabrication equipment including saws and other CNC equipment when required
  • Maintain strict adherence to company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Minimum 2 years of CNC machine and CNC router operating experience (setup, adjust, operate)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings
  • Proficient in using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, tape measures)
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to work with measurements, fractions, decimals, and dimensions
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50lbs

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience in plastic fabrication, plastics manufacturing, or distribution environments (asset)
  • Experience working with wood, metal, or other manufacturing materials (asset)
  • Experience with CNC programming or CAD/CAM knowledge

 Compensation and Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Pay rate: $24-28 per hour
